Judie 29th December 2020

I had known Brian for many years since I joined the Letchworth Naturalists (as they were then known) in about 1973. He was the backbone of the Society giving us many presentations, especially showing his profound knowledge of our local fauna and flora. Using his skilful and beautiful photography he also made considerable contributions to the local scene with his books on butterflies, birds and dragonflies and many other publications. On a more personal note I would like to add that my husband Ken & I enjoyed meeting up with Terri and Brian on our holidays in the Outer Hebrides, North & South Uist, which I'm happy to say often coincided with theirs! A chance meeting on a bench in Berneray harbour seal watching comes to mind also another on Scolpaig sea and birdwatching. Attending one of Brian's presentations to the Western Isles Natural History Society also made for very entertaining evenings. He is sorely missed. Judie & Ken Starkey
